What makes a fabric a crepe? it's the tight twist of the yarns! Learn this and more by reading Cheryl's "A Silkworker's Notebook", for 30 years the standard reference for the textile arts industry.
Aurora Silk sells a full selection of natural dyes and mordants.
For ideas on which dyes and which mordants to use, view our Natural Dye colour Chart and all the tutorials posted on this website for free! Also see some step by step picturals on Cheryl's personal blog site: www.truefibers.net.

A substantial 16.5 mm crepe with a lustrous (but not shiny) surface. This is a standard fabric of the garment industry. A good choice for those who do not want to iron, as it resists wrinkles. Machine woven of reeled cultivated silk, very even and standard. Because the weave is so tight, this is the most durable of the cultivated silks. Dyes beautifully. Drapes incredibly, especially when cut on the bias.
