Hand Spun Tussah Silk Yarns

Tussah is wildcrafted, thus is naturally both organic silk and "Peace Silk." Tussah (wild) silk worms live naturally in tropical or semi-tropical forests. Their silk is gathered after the moth emerges. The caterpillars eat all kinds of different trees, all rich in tannin, so the silk is beige to brownish-toned. There are many varieties and shades of wild silk. Tussah is generally stronger and more resilient than cultivated.

Soft & Fluffy
At pproximately 100 yds per ounce this yarn is suitable for soft knits. It also makes a beautiful weaving weft.

Tight Twist Warp
This yarn from India is handspun by softening the fibre with soap, then pulling it out directly into a yarn.
