Description
“Tussah” silk (also known as tussar silk, tassar silk, kosa silk, etc.), is a wild silk gathered from the cocoons of various species of Antheraea moths, which feed on oak leaves. As this is wild-gathered, it is a “peace silk”, meaning that the silkworm was allowed to exit the cocoon and complete its natural life cycle.
Tussah takes natural dyes particularly well, producing beautiful brilliant colors!
