“Tussah” silk (also known as tussar silk, tassar silk, kosa silk, etc.), is a wild silk gathered from the cocoons of various species of Antheraea moths, which feed on oak leaves.
This rustic herringbone twill silk is durable, lightweight, and perfect for summer clothes!
This is a silk “noil”, sometimes referred to as “raw silk”, made from the lightly nubbly silk taken from the inner part of the silk cocoon.
As this is wild-gathered, it is a “peace silk”, meaning that the silkworm was allowed to exit the cocoon and complete its natural life cycle.
